The women of WordPress have been up to some amazing things this week!

This Issue's Wonder Woman: Gen Herres

Gen Herres is an experienced WordPress developer, a DHS Trusted Tester for Section 508, a well-known speaker, and an accessibility advocate, and Baltimore WP meetup organizer. She’s spoken at meetups, on podcasts, at WordCamp US, and WP Accessibility Day, and is an IAAP member. With the EasyA11yGuide.com, Gen helps web agencies to tackle the challenging problem of web accessibility with their builds. She’s helped plugins, themes, and web agencies refine their accessibility processes.

What is your mantra?

Conform and be dull. Always question if there's a better way and upset the status quo.

Tell us 3-5 tech tools that you swear by that make life & work a little easier.

My wacom intuos tablet instead of a mouse, Kiwi to keep all of my Gmail accounts straight, Pandora to provide my daily soundtrack, and Brave browser for almost never seeing a single ad or cookie consent again.

What's in your mug/glass/bottle during work hours?

Generally water, sometimes apple cinnamon tea.

What's in your mug/glass/bottle after hours?

Ginger ale with rum.

Knowing what you do now, what advice would you give to your younger self?

Take care of your body. It's the only one you get, there are no exchanges. Also, recurring revenue is the lifeblood of a business, focus on it.
