The women of WordPress have been up to some amazing things this week!

This Issue's Wonder Woman: Birgit Olzem

Birgit Olzem is a passionate creative entrepreneur, mentor, and advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) in tech. Through CoachBirgit Media and LiCoBi Design, she empowers women to create meaningful online businesses with heart and purpose. As a mother of five adult children and grandmother of two, Birgit embraces a nurturing, neurodivergent-friendly approach to all she does, always aiming to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

What is your mantra?

I often remind myself, "Who knows what good might come from this," trusting that challenges bring unexpected opportunities. And when things seem tough, I remember, "Things are never as bad as they seem"—a reminder to stay calm and take things one step at a time.

Tell us 3-5 tech tools that you swear by that make life & work a little easier.

  • Universal clipboard within the Apple tech stack (Macbook, iPhone, iPad)
  • Raycast and Todoist for productivity
  • Obisdian, Notion and Milanote for knowledge management

What's in your mug/glass/bottle during work hours?

Sparkling mineral water for hydration (bottled up in my hometown), coffee or tea.

What's in your mug/glass/bottle after hours?

Tea and sparkling mineralwater. On weekends a glass of Italian red wine "Primitivo."

Knowing what you do now, what advice would you give to your younger self?

Trust your voice and intuition. Don’t be afraid to speak up for what you believe in, especially when it's about fairness and inclusivity. The road won’t be easy, but your authenticity will create a path where others can follow.
